How to reach the team

The citizenship practice at Bayraktar Attorneys is based in Istanbul and works in English, Turkish, Russian and Chinese. Messages arrive with the team that writes these entries, not with a call centre. Initial contact by WhatsApp or e-mail is usually faster than an appointment request, because the first question is nearly always about dates rather than about the law.

What to send with a first message

1. Your permit historyEvery residence or work permit held, with start and end dates. This is what determines how much of your time counts.
2. Your travelApproximate time spent outside Türkiye, year by year, so the two absence limits can be checked.
3. Your current statusWhat permit you hold today and when it expires.
4. Your workEmployed, self-employed or company owner, and whether social security is registered.
5. Anything awkwardAn old fine, a gap between permits, a refused application. It is better raised now than discovered later.

What happens next

Most first questions are answered with a date: whether you already qualify, when you will, or what has to be fixed before the arithmetic works. Where the position is straightforward, you will be told so and will not be sold a file. Where it is not — a broken chain, a refusal to challenge within sixty days, a consent problem over a child — the team will say what the work involves before it begins.

If your question is about a residence permit rather than citizenship, the residence permit practice handles it; if it is about a deportation decision or an entry ban, that team works to much shorter deadlines and should be contacted immediately.
